Therapeutic range: 220-500 µg/L. Toxicity threshold: >900 µg/L.
Clomipramine is metabolised to norclomipramine. The parent drug and the metabolite are pharmacologically active. TDM should include assay of both clomipramine and norclomipramine. The therapeutic range is 220 to 500 µg/L when the concentration of both compounds is summed. Toxicity may be seen at total concentrations greater than 900 µg/L.
