Imipramine


General
  Clinical Use: Therapeutic drug monitoring. Desipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant medication. Although it is also a metabolite of imipramine it is sometimes given on its own as a medication and is requested on its own for quantification.

Therapeutic Range:
Imipramine + Desipramine = 0.46-1.02 umol/L

Toxic: Imipramine + Desipramine > 1.84 umol/L

Therapeutic range: Plasma drug levels which are established to be effective in the treatment of the disease. 

Desipramine:
Therapeutic Range: 0.56 - 1.13 umol/L

Possible toxicity : >1.13 umol/L

Toxic level: > 1.88 umol/L
