Doxepin


General
  Clinical Use: Therapeutic drug monitoring. Doxepin is a tricyclic antidepressant medication. Desmethyldoxepin, a metabolite of doxepin is also quantified in this assay.

Therapeutic range: 50 to 150 µg/L. Toxicity threshold: >300 µg/L.
Doxepin is metabolised to nordoxepin. Nordoxepin is pharmacologically active. 
Therapeutic interval for Doxepin plus Nordoxepin is 50 to 150ug/L. 
Toxicity may be seen for concentrations of Doxepin plus Nordoxepin 
that are greater than 300ug/L.
