Alkaline Phosphatase Isoenzymes


General
  Clinical Use: For identifying sources of raised serum alkaline phosphatase. Sources include liver, bone, intestinal and placental. This test can determine the presence of intestinal, biliary and placental isoenzymes, and identify idiopathic hyperphosphataemia of infancy.
Isoenzymes will only be tested if ALP is >135 U/L.
  Availability: Samples are batched and tested 2-3 times a week.
