Adenosine Deaminase (Whole Blood)


General
  Clinical Use: Adenosine deaminase deficiency is associated with an autosomal recessive inherited form of combined immunodeficiency (CID) typically presenting in infants. Deficiency is usually diagnosed by finding <1% of normal catalytic ability in haemolysates from fresh or frozen packed erythrocytes. Plasma ADA levels are not reliable for diagnosing deficiency.
  Availability: Samples are batched and tested once a week.
