Clinical Use:
|
Patients treated with bismuth compounds may have enhanced absorption with high levels in blood and urine. Encephalopathy may develop but is usually reversible when treatment ceases. Rapid renal clearance maintains low circulating levels so clinical and biochemical levels are more likely with renal insufficiency.
Used therapeutically in treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers. |
