Transferrin Isoforms


General
  Clinical Use: For the diagnosis of congenital disorders of glycosylation.
  Availability: Samples are batched and tested fortnightly.

  Handling Instructions (to laboratory): Send sample chilled within 24 hours of collection.

Collection Requirements
  Container: Lithium Heparin-PST (GREEN),  
  Sample Type: See container
  Minimum Collection Volume: 0.5mL
  Collection Instructions: Samples should ideally be collected after 4 weeks of age.
If sample will not reach laboratory within 24 hours of collection, it must be centrifuged, separated and frozen.

  Processing Instructions: Centrifuge, separate and freeze sample.
Check with BGU before adding this test to a previously collected sample.
