Three sputum samples on consecutive days are required if history of lung disease is indicated.
Three full void, early morning urine samples on consecutive days are required if history of renal disease is indicated.
Swabs in transport medium are suboptimal for mycobacterial culture and tissue is preferred. Please contact the Mycobacteria Laboratory before collecting swabs.
Please contact the Mycobacteria Laboratory in regard to specific sample types if further clarification and information is required.
