T Spot TB Assay


General
  Clinical Use: Interferon-gamma release assay (ELISpot assay) against tuberculosis-specific antigens that is used for the diagnosis of latent tuberculosis. This assay may be more senstitive in immunosuppressed hosts and is generally recommended in cases of an indeterminate QuantiFERON-Gold assay result.
Not available as a latent TB screening test. For screening use QuantiFERON-TB. This assay MUST be ordered by consultation only and generally patients must be bled at FSH.
  Availability: Samples are tested Monday-Thursday.

Collection Requirements
  Container: CPT Tube (CPT),  
  Sample Type: See container
  Minimum Collection Volume: 8mL
  Collection Instructions: Sample must be collected at FSH, QEII or RPH and delivered to FSH within 8 hours of collection.
Samples must arrive before 1400 Monday-Thursday only.
QEII / RPH - Please collect before 12pm.
CPT tube must be collected and delivered upright.
