Elevated Lp(a) is an independent inherited casual risk factor for artherosclerotic CVD, aortic valve stenosis, cardiovascular and all-cause mortality, even at low LDL-C, 
which should be interpreted in the context of other risk factors and absolute cardiovascular risk.
Recommend first degree family members have their Lp(a) measured as part of CVD risk assessment.
