Creatinine

General

Clinical Use:

Used to determine whether the kidneys are functioning normally. A calculation based on the serum creatinine concentration, called the eGFR (estimate of glomerular filtration rate) measures how effectively the kidneys are filtering small molecules like creatinine out of the blood.

Availability:

Samples are tested routinely during the testing laboratory's hours of operation.
This test may be eligible for Rule 3 exemption if indicated.
