Collection Requirements
  Container: SARSTEDT Salivette (SALIVETT),  
  Sample Type: Saliva
  Minimum Collection Volume: 1mL
  Collection Instructions: Collection containers are provided by the testing department.
Collection should be undertaken at 2300 or as specified by requesting doctor.
Sample must be collected before brushing teeth and at least 30 minutes after eating/drinking.
If dexamethasone suppression test requested and dexamethasone dose already taken, collect sample for dexamethasone suppression test first and schedule the salivary cortisol in 1 week.
Hold salivette tube, remove stopper and the swab. Gently chew on the swab for 2 minutes ensuring you do not swallow the saliva. Return the saturated swab into the salivette tube and replace the stopper firmly.
