Patients should have been on oral penicillin for at least 24 hours before specimen collection.
For oral administration, collect a peak specimen 1 hour after oral dose or 11.5 hours after oral dose if probenecid has been given.
Trough specimens are collected just before the next dose is due to be taken. |
