Clinical Use:

Intraoperative pathology consultation. Tissue taken during the operation is sent for immediate reporting. Generally used for diagnosis of cancer/neoplasm or to exclude these. Often used to assess margins of excision, for tumour staging, or in special areas such as parathyroid surgery to identify tissue. |
