  Clinical Use: Abacavir hypersensitivity is associated with HLA B*5701 and occurs in 2-8% of abacavir exposed patients. Presence of B*5701 is associated with >50% risk of abacavir hypersensitivity. Absence of B*5701 is associated with low (<1%) risk of abacavir hypersensitivity.
