Anthrax


General
  Clinical Use: Diagnosis of infection with Bacillus anthracis.
Typically presents as an inflamed cutaneous lesion with a black, scabby centre (eschar). Severe pulmonary infection may also occur after inhalation of spores. Gastrointestinal infection can be seen after ingestion of contaminated meat.
