Coxiella burnetii PCR


General
  Clinical Use: Adjunctive diagnostic testing for Q fever.
Serology is the recommended primary diagnostic test for Q fever. PCR on EDTA blood may aid in the diagnosis of acute or chronic Q fever. Testing can also be performed on heart valve tissue.
  Availability: Testing is performed Monday to Saturday, with results usually available within 48-72h of receipt by the testing lab.
