Clinical Use:

Confirmatory diagnostic testing for dengue virus infection.
Serology is the recommended primary test for diagnosis of dengue. PCR is performed on serum when dengue NS1 antigen is positive, for surveillance purposes. Testing of other specimen types or in other clinical scenarios requires discussion with a Clinical Microbiologist. |
