HSV / VZV PCR


General
  Clinical Use: A multiplex assay for co-detection of herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV1), herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV2) and varicella zoster virus (VZV). Suitable specimens are lesion/ulcer/vesicle swabs, eye swabs, and CSF. Testing of amniotic fluid and products of conception can also be performed. Testing of other specimen types requires discussion with a Clinical Microbiologist.
  Availability: Samples are tested Monday-Saturday.
