Hydatid Serology


General
  Clinical Use: Adjunctive diagnostic testing for invasive Echinococcus spp infection (hydatid disease). An enzyme immunoassay (EIA), detecting IgG antibodies to Echinococcus is performed. If positive, confirmatory testing is performed by Echinococcus Western Blot.
  Availability: Samples are batched and tested once a week.
