Clinical Use:
|
Adjunctive diagnostic testing for Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 infection. Urine is tested for the presence of L. pneumophila serogroup 1 antigen. The test has estimated sensitivity/specificity of 95%/95%. Legionella PCR testing of lower respiratory tract specimens (e.g. sputum) is also recommended for diagnosis of acute Legionella infection, including Legionella longbeachae. Acute and convalescent Legionella serology is also recommended. |
