Toxoplasma Serology


General
  Clinical Use: Diagnostic testing for Toxoplasma gondii infection (toxoplasmosis). Toxoplasma IgG is performed on all requests. Toxoplasma IgM is performed if specifically requested, if clinical history indicates acute infection, or if Toxoplasma IgG is detected. If Toxoplasma IgM is detected by the screening assay, a supplementary assay is performed to confirm detection. Specimens may be referred to Pathology West, NSW, for Toxoplasma IgG avidity testing if required.
  Availability: Samples are tested Monday - Saturday.
