Free Haemoglobin (Plasma)


General
  Clinical Use: Plasma Free Haemoglobins are used in haemolysis screening. They are raised when the mechanisms for the sequestration of free haemoglobin in plasma are exhausted. Extravascular haemolysis (as in immune haemolysis)does not contribute to plasma haemoglobin levels.
  Availability: Samples are tested routinely during the testing laboratory's hours of operation.

  Collection Instructions: Dedicated sample required.

The testing department should be contacted to arrange collection of sample from CSRA.
