Clinical Use:

Adjunctive diagnostic testing for Rickettsial infection, including typhus group (e.g. R. typhi), spotted fever group (e.g. R. australis, R. honei) and scrub typhus (Orientia tsutsugamushi).
When acute Rickettsial infection is suspected, PCR on EDTA blood is recommended together with serology. |

Testing is performed Monday to Saturday, with results usually available within 48-72h of receipt by the testing lab. |
