Synovial Fluid - MC+S and Crystals


General
  Clinical Use: Synovial fluid is examined to determine the presence and identification of crystals for gout or pseudogout diagnosis. Also taken to determine the presence or absence of infection.
  Availability: Samples are tested routinely during the testing laboratory's hours of operation.
Please note that Crystal examination is NOT performed at Regional Sites - Sample is forwarded to QEII.

  Collection Instructions: Sample collected into EDTA tube is suitable for cell count only.
