Clinical Use:
|
All requests for diagnostic testing for poliomyelitis must be discussed with a Clinical Microbiologist prior to submission of specimens.
Diagnostic specimens will be screened by enterovirus PCR (see separate entry in this test directory). Positive specimens will be referred to the National Enterovirus Reference Laboratory (NERL).
Specimens submitted for acute flaccid paralysis surveillance will be referred directly to NERL. |
