General
  Clinical Use: Thromboelastometry is a global assay of haemostasis which can be used to assess the viscoelasticity of whole blood during clot formation and fibrinolysis. It may be useful in assessing haemostasis during surgery and bleeding and may be used to guide blood product use.
  Availability: Samples are tested routinely during the testing laboratory's hours of operation.

  Handling Instructions (to laboratory): Deliver sample to laboratory within 4 hours of collection.

  Sample Type: See container
  Minimum Collection Volume: 3mL
  Collection Instructions: Sample must reach laboratory within 4 hours of collection.
Non-medicare rebateable item.
This test is not available for non - hospital outpatients, please contact local laboratory for clarification.
