Sulphonylurea Screen


General
  Clinical Use: This is a semiquantitative assay for eliminating sulphonylurea ingestion in cases of unexplained hypoglycaemia. The oral hypoglycaemic screen is able to detect 6 sulphonylurea drugs. The screen is only reliable for specimens collected within 24 hours of drug ingestion.
  Availability: Samples are batched and tested fortnightly.
Results are released three weeks post specimen receipt at the testing laboratory.
