Cobalt (Whole Blood)


General
  Clinical Use: Cobalt is used in industry especially for the manufacture of durable high melting point alloys. In the case of metal on metal implants, wearing of the metal surfaces creates cobalt nano and microparticles with both local and sytemic effects.
Testing is for hip replacement patients only.
  Availability: Samples are batched and tested once a week.
