Clinical Use:

To help detect certain rare genetic disorders in sick babies and avoid brain damage in babies that are markedly jaundiced.
Neonatal bilirubin will be performed on all bilirubin requests for patients under the age of 90 days. |

Samples are tested routinely during the testing laboratory's hours of operation.
This test may be eligible for Rule 3 exemption if indicated. |
