Immunophenotyping - Lymphocyte Subsets (Peripheral Blood)


General
  Clinical Use: This test is NOT for lymphocyte malignancy/lymphoma studies/leukaemia testing/LPD screening.
Immunophenotyping for T cell, B cell, NK cells is for assessment of immune status. If the request form does not clearly state an alias/synonym listed below, refer to Flow Cytometry - LPD.
This test is NOT for NK Cell Function.
If request form states NK cell function see Natural Killer Cell Function test.
  Availability: Samples are tested Monday-Friday.

Collection Requirements
  Container: EDTA (LAVENDER),

  Minimum Collection Volume:
  Collection Instructions: Test NOT performed out of hours, weekends or public holidays.
FSH: Samples sent to the FSH laboratory on Friday must be in the lab by 9.30am for same day testing.
QEII: Samples MUST be received in QEII Immunology by 4pm weekdays for same day testing.
PCH collections on Fridays for QEII Immunology MUST be collected before 3pm.
Samples not received by these times will be tested on the next normal working day provide that are not greater than 72 hours old (adults) or 48 hours old (paediatric).
Regional Services (Outside metro area): Collect sample Monday-Wednesday only.
Do not collect prior to public holidays.

  Minimum Assay Volume: 0.5mL
  Stability: 48 hours ambient (Paediatrics); 72 hours ambient (Adults) for routine Lymphocyte Subsets; 48 hours ambient for all other tests
  Transport Instructions (to testing laboratory): Send sample ambient.
