  Clinical Use: Adjunctive diagnostic testing for Histoplasma infection. Fungal MC&S of body fluids/tissues is recommended for diagnosis of Histoplasma infection.
  Availability: Testing is not available at PathWest but may be referred when clinically indicated.

  Container: Serum Sep. Tube-SST (GOLD),  
  Sample Type: Serum; Urine; CSF; BAL
  Minimum Collection Volume: 3mL
  Collection Instructions: If histoplasmosis is strongly suspected, please discuss with a Clinical Microbiologist prior to submitting specimens as additional laboratory safety measures may be required.
