Multiplate


General
  Clinical Use: The Multiplate test is used to assess platelet function in whole blood, primarily to assess effect of anti-platelet medication.
  Availability: QEII: Samples are tested 24/7 for the QEII Network. (QEII, PCH, KEMH and Osborne Park)
FSH: Samples are tested Monday-Friday 0830-1700 for the FS Network (FSH, RPH and FTH)
  Aliases/Synonyms: Aspirin Resistance,   Clopidogrel Resistance,   Whole Blood Platelet Aggregometry,  
  Code: MUP
  Handling Instructions (to laboratory): Sample must reach laboratory within 3 hours of collection.
Do not send samples via PTS.

  Container: Lithium Heparin, No Gel (DKGNLITH),  
  Sample Type: See container
  Minimum Collection Volume:
  Collection Instructions: FS Network ONLY (FSH, RPH & FTH): Sample must reach testing laboratory (FSH Coagulation) before 1630 on day of collection.


Processing Requirements
  Alternate Containers:
  Processing Instructions: Process sample immediately on arrival in laboratory.
Do not centrifuge sample.
  Minimum Assay Volume: 2mL
  Stability: 3 hours ambient
  Transport Instructions (to testing laboratory): Send sample ambient.
Do not send samples via PTS.
