Zika virus PCR


General
  Clinical Use: Adjunctive diagnostic testing for Zika virus infection.
Serology is the usual primary diagnostic test for acute or past Zika virus infection. PCR testing or urine and/or EDTA blood may be indicated depending on the clinical scenario.
  Availability: Testing is performed Monday to Saturday, with results usually available within 48-72h of receipt by the testing lab.

  Sample Type: Whole Blood (EDTA); Urine
  Minimum Collection Volume:
  Collection Instructions: PathWest Phlebotomy: Collect LAVENDER (EDTA) and GOLD (SST).
