Clinical Use:
|
For the determination of current hepatitis C infection in patients with positive or indeterminate serology, in immunocompromised patients, and in patients with suspected acute hepatitis C prior to seroconversion. Serology is the recommended screening and diagnostic assay for hepatitis C.
Hepatitis C Quantitative PCR is used for the quantitation of hepatitis C RNA prior to antiviral treatment and for monitoring while on treatment. It will be performed when requested specifically. |
