Test Entry - Detail
Factor XI Assay

General
Clinical Use: To determine the cause of a prolonged INR or APTT, to identify specific factor deficiencies or inhibitors. Assays for factors VIII, IX, XI, and XII are performed to evaluate a prolonged APTT (with normal INR). Assays for factors II, V, VII, and X are performed to evaluate a prolonged INR(with normal APTT). If both the INR and APTT are prolonged, all factors may be assayed to establish the cause.
Availability: As required. Please contact testing laboratory for urgent requests.

  Code: FAC11
