Clinical Use:

Screening and diagnostic testing for hepatitis C virus. Specimens are screened with hepatitis C antibody immunoassay. Specimens reactive on this assay have a supplementary hepatitis C antibody assay performed. Confirmed hepatitis C antibody indicates past or current infection. To determine current infection, hepatitis C PCR should be requested. |
