TORCH Serology


General
  Clinical Use: Untargeted TORCH serology is not recommended for the investigation of perinatal or congenital infections. In particular, serological testing has a very limited role in neonates, with the exception of syphilis.
When 'TORCH serology' requests are received at PathWest, the specimen will be stored and not tested. Specific tests should be ordered individually (see separate entries).
