General
Clinical Use: Biological indicators are used at regular intervals in order to monitor the sterilisation process. The Microbial Contamination Testing Laboratory (MCTL) routinely test Biological Indicators used for Steam autoclaves, Hydrogen peroxide sterilisers and Hot air sterilisers. Biological indicators are used for verifying the exposure of a product to the sterilising process and is the closest ideal for testing the efficacy of the sterilisation process.
