Clinical Use:
|
Diagnostic testing for genital/mucosal warts. Human papillomavirus types 6 and 11 cause ~90% of symptomatic genital warts. A dry swab of a suspected genital/mucosal wart is suitable for testing.
Testing for HPV types that cause cutaneous warts (e.g. common warts, plantar warts, flat warts) is not available at PathWest. See separate entries for HPV high-risk screening and diagnosis. |

Testing is performed Monday to Saturday, with results usually available within 48-72h of receipt by the testing lab. |
