Newborn Screening SCID - Lymphocyte Subsets


General
  Clinical Use: Severe Combined immune deficiency (SCID) is included in the WA Newborn Screening (NBS) program of routinely screened disorders.
Initial testing is performed on a dried blood spot test by the Biochemical Genetics Unit.
Follow up testing for lymphocyte subsets and T cell memory is performed by the QEII Immunology laboratory.
  Availability: Samples are tested Monday - Friday.

Deliver sample to laboratory immediately following collection.

Collection Requirements
  Container: EDTA (LAVENDER),  
  Sample Type: See container (Venous or heel prick sample acceptable)
  Minimum Collection Volume: 0.2mL
  Collection Instructions: Dedicated sample required.

  Processing Instructions: The testing department should be contacted to arrange collection of sample from CSRA.
TBNKN can only be requested if the following criteria is met:
ATT DR: M4449 / WARD: PQIMM / FE: PUB
If FE = PVT, create a new stay.

If the request does not meet the above criteria, register as TBNK.
  Minimum Assay Volume: 0.2mL
