Soluble C5b-9 Complex


General
  Clinical Use: Increased C5b-9 complex is seen in elevated complement activation. Elevated levels have a high sensitivity but are not specific for transplant associated thrombotic microangiopathy.
  Availability: Samples are batched and tested once a week.

Sample must be separated and frozen into 2 aliquots within 2 hours of collection.
Non-medicare rebateable item. All patients except Public, VA and Pensioners must pay $160.00 upfront.

  Stability: 2 hours chilled
  Transport Instructions (to testing laboratory): Send separated sample frozen on dry ice.
Requests should be urgently reviewed by Immunologist prior to transport. Referred Testing department to contact Immunology via 6383 4306 on day of collection to ensure same day referral.
