GABA Receptor antibodies (GABA-R-B1/B2) (CSF)


General
  Clinical Use: GABA-R-B1/B2 antibodies are associated with a rare form of autoimmune limbic encephalitis. Seizures, cognitive dysfunction and behavioural abnormalities are the main clinical manifestations.
  Availability: This test is performed weekly.

  Handling Instructions (to laboratory): Samples from the Perth metro area may be transported chilled.

  Transport Instructions (to testing laboratory): Send sample chilled if sample will be received at QEII within 24hrs of collections.
Samples delayed >24hrs should be frozen.
