Human papillomavirus Extended Typing

Clinical Use:
|
For the qualitative detection and differentiation of high- and low-risk human papillomavirus types in tissue, anogenital swabs, and liquid-based cytology specimens (ThinPrep®). This method can identify the following HPV types: 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68 82, which are considered to be high-risk types, and 6, 11, 26, 53, and 73, which are low- or indeterminate-risk.

PreserveCyt(ThinPrep) LBC containers are suitable. Surepath LBC containers are unsuitable due to incompatibility with the assay.
Non-LBC swabs should be sent dry or in viral transport medium. A dedicated swab is required.
For paraffin-embedded tissue, send 6 x 20µm sections/shavings in an Eppendorf tube. Whole blocks are not acceptable. |
