HLA Typing for Solid Organ Transplant

  Clinical Use: HLA Typing is performed for Solid Organ Transplant potential recipients and donors in order to investigate histocompatibility to identify the best donor for a patient requiring transplantation for the treatment of end stage organ failure.
  Availability: Samples are tested Monday-Friday.

Collection Requirements
  Container: Acid Citrate Dextrose (ACD),   or,   Buccal Swab (BUCCAL),  
  Sample Type: See container
  Minimum Collection Volume: 10mL
  Collection Instructions: Buccal swab using the Oragene saliva kit or COPAN swab is to be used for some collections as indicated by the requesting Doctor, and can be ordered via FSH Specimen Collection Network Coordinator - (0460 327 452) or Branch Admin (6457 7862).
EDTA sample can be used but requires consultation with the testing laboratory.
