Methotrexate

  Clinical Use: MTX is a folic acid antagonist used in the treatment of acute lymphocytic leukemia,osteogenic sarcoma and other neoplasms.

CANCER THERAPY:
For a single bolus dose of methotrexate, potentially toxic concentrations are:
24 hours after dose > 5umol/L
48 hours after dose >  0.5umol/L
72 hours after dose > 0.05umol/L

  Minimum Collection Volume: 0.5mL
  Collection Instructions: If sample will not reach laboratory within 4 hours of collection, it must be centrifuged and separated from gel. Alternatively a non-gel tube should be used.
