Anti-Factor Xa


General
  Clinical Use: Anti-Factor Xa activity is the measurement of choice in patients receiving therapeutic low molecular weight heparin due to its greater activity against FXa. It is also used to measure effectiveness of Rivaroxaban, Danaparoid, Fondaparinux and Apixaban.
  Availability: Samples are tested routinely during the testing laboratory's hours of operation.

Collection Requirements

  Minimum Collection Volume: 2.7mL
  Collection Instructions: If sample will not reach laboratory within 4 hours of collection, it must be double centrifuged, separated and frozen.
Document the dosage of the specific low molecular weight heparin administered.
