Neutrophil Function Tests


General
  Clinical Use: Diagnosis of neutrophil deficiency diseases which lead to recurrent bacterial or fungal diseases. Test includes NBT, DHR, chemotaxis, opsonisation and phagocytosis.
  Availability: Testing available by appointment only. Contact the testing laboratory.

Collection Requirements
  Container: Sodium Heparin,No Gel x 2 (NAGREEN),   and,   EDTA (LAVENDER),   and,   Serum, no gel (RED),  
  Sample Type: See container
  Minimum Collection Volume: 12mL Sodium Heparin; 1mL EDTA; 2mL CLOT
  Collection Instructions: Patient must book an appointment and have bloods taken at QEII site.


Processing Requirements

Serum Sep. Tube-SST (GOLD)
  Processing Instructions: Process sample immediately on arrival in laboratory.
The testing department should be contacted to arrange collection of sample from CSRA.
Store all samples at room temperature.
  Minimum Assay Volume: 12mL Sodium Heparin; 1mL EDTA; 2mL CLOT
