Donath-Landsteiner (DL) Test


General
  Clinical Use: Aids in the diagnosis of paroxysmal cold haemoglobinuria (PCH).
  Availability: Samples are tested Monday-Thursday.

Collection Requirements
  Container: Serum, no gel x 2 (RED),  
  Sample Type: See container
  Minimum Collection Volume:
  Collection Instructions: Collect Monday-Thursday ONLY in Metro area.
Contact FSH TMU prior to collection.
Pre-warm needle, syringe and blood tubes to 37 degrees.
Collect sample and keep at 37 degrees in thermos.

  Processing Instructions: The testing department should be contacted to arrange collection of sample from CSRA.
Retain samples in thermos at 37 degrees.
Do not centrifuge samples.

  Transport Instructions (to testing laboratory): Arrange immediate transport to FSH CSRA to arrive before 2pm.
