Immunofluorescence of Tissue Biopsy


General
  Clinical Use: Immunofluorescence testing for immunoglobulins, fibrinogen and complement deposition aids the diagnosis of specific immune mediated diseases.
This is routinely performed on skin and renal tissues but may also be available on others tissues in consultation with a Clinical immunologist.

Collection Requirements
  Container: Sterile Container (STERILE),  
  Sample Type: Tissue Biopsy
  Minimum Collection Volume: N/A
  Collection Instructions: Skin Biopsy: Place sample into saline and keep chilled until transport.
Renal Biopsy: Sample should be embedded into OCT compound and frozen in dry ice. For regional collections where this is not possible, collect as per Skin Biopsy.
Do not place sample into formalin. Samples on gauze should be submerged in saline.
